2023-12A SUSTAINED FOOD REGULATORY TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR EU SPECIALTY FOOD INGREDIENTS’ MEMBERS

A sustained training programme was executed this year with the aim to take new staff in member companies and associations on board, as well as to broaden and or/deepen the knowledge of regulatory experts about:

  • The Technical Regulation Information System (TRIS)
  • The revision of the CLP Regulation (with the kind support of our member CEFIC)
  • WTO TBT & SPS notifications
  • The new labelling rules in the wine sector and their potential impact on food improvement agents (with the kind support of CEEV)
  • The potential impact of the re-evaluation of food additives on the formulation of pharmaceutical products (with the kind support of AESGP & EFPIA)
  • The EU institutions and key European procedures
  • EU Soft Law in the food sector (with the kind support of the law firm Qolumn).

 

This was supplemented with a training visit of the European institutions in Brussels, with the kind support of the European Parliament, DG Trade and DG GROW.

 

Last but not least: 2024 will start with a webinar on the new legislation applicable to food additives and novel foods in the UK, with the kind support of our member FAIA. Stay tuned!
