2016-01EU Specialty Food Ingredients appointed member of the new High Level Forum for a Better Functioning Food Supply Chain

Following the end of the mandate of the former Forum in December 2014, the European Commission set up a new Forum to help develop policy in the food and drink sector and contribute to a better functioning food supply chain by a Commission decision adopted in June 2015. EU Specialty Food Ingredients was very pleased to contribute to the work of the High Level Forum in the 2013-2014 term and appreciated the value of the engagement of several Directorates General. EU Specialty Food Ingredients is delighted to have the opportunity to continue the work undertaken in the former Forum. Thanks to its particular position in the food value chain, EU Specialty Food Ingredients can offer a complementary perspective to further improve the functioning of the chain, specifically as regards innovation, sustainability and future challenges influencing the competitiveness of the food supply chain.
