At the European Food Forum event hosted by MEPs Mr Asim Ademov and Ms. Irène Tolleret at the European Parliament on 21st March, Mr. Petr Mensik, who oversees Nutrition at EU Specialty Food Ingredients, presented introductory remarks on the topic of ‘Innovation in food processing technology: the case of proteins’. P. Mensik highlighted the critical importance of establishing a conducive regulatory framework to facilitate innovation in the European market. This message carries heightened significance as European manufacturers of specialty food ingredients express mounting concerns over the economic impact of regulatory delays in approving pre-market food ingredients, including new proteins.
