2019-03EU SPECIALTY FOOD INGREDIENTS SPOKE AT CNHFA WORKSHOP ON INTERNATIONAL REGULATIONS OF FOOD INGREDIENTS AND ADDITIVES

Caroline Rey, EU Affairs Manager at EU Specialty Food Ingredients, was invited to speak at a workshop on International Regulations of Food Ingredients and Additives, which was organised by the China Nutrition and Health Food Association (CNHFA) on 24th March 2019, in parallel to the 51st Codex Committee on Food Additives.

In addition to EU Specialty Food Ingredients’ presentation on the European legal instruments for food additives, the 53 attendees from industry and China’s regulatory bodies received updates on the recent food ingredients and additives developments in China, Japan, Taiwan and the USA. This was followed by a panel debate on a large number of topical issues such as secondary additives or additives supervision.

EU Specialty Food Ingredients’ participation was highly appreciated and was seen as a good start for further cooperation with CNHFA.

This intervention also came within the scope our federation’s long history of cooperation with the Chinese authorities and we are indeed looking forward to future exchanges.
