2024-03SAFETY ASSESSMENT OF FOOD ADDITIVES – REVIEWING PROCEDURE PROGRESS

The Info Session “(Re-) evaluating food additives” organised by EFSA on 19-20 March in Parma allows EU Specialty Food Ingredients to provide feedback on the progress made in the safety assessment procedure of food additives and to offer suggestions for improvement for preparation and dissemination of EFSA scientific outputs. This feedback is based on continuous input from Members regarding their engagement with EFSA in relation to applications and data submissions in reply to EFSA calls. The key takeaway from EU Specialty Food Ingredients’ message highlights the benefits of direct communication of EFSA with applicants and data providers.
