EU Specialty Food Ingredients News

2023-05SUSTAINABILITY IS NOT JUST A WORD

EU Specialty Food Ingredients was proud to be one of the first signatories of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Food Business and Marketing Practices in July 2021. For the second time, the association has submitted its annual report and is pleased that 7 Members have now signed the Code directly.

Moreover, as a member of the European Food Forum (EFF), an independent, politically-led, non-partisan forum led and governed by elected Members of the European Parliament that aims to promote open dialogue on sustainable food systems among policymakers, food supply chain actors, civil society organizations, research and academia, and other public institutions, EU Specialty Food Ingredients is pleased to support the EFF call to the European Commission to proclaim 2024 as the European Year devoted to “Sustainable and resilient food systems”.

Delivering nutritional, technological and health benefits, specialty food ingredients play a key role in the creation of tasty, affordable and safe food and drink. Our industry is on a sustainability journey to provide tools and solutions for current challenges, and those yet to come, thus contributing to a sustainable future for people, the planet and business, also in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
